Heritage-focused creator invites audiences to watch, subscribe, and support ongoing genealogy-driven projects
Manchester, UK — March 16, 2026 — Independent filmmaker and musician Katherine Appello has announced the continued development of a documentary series centered on ancestry, historical memory, and cultural identity. The project explores her diverse heritage, including Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Greek, Iberian, Celtic, and colonial lineage, weaving together storytelling, genealogy research, and original music.

The early films in the series focus on family history, including the expulsion of her ancestors from Spain in 1492, examining themes of displacement, resilience, and generational legacy. Through documentary shorts and accompanying music compositions, Appello aims to create an evolving body of work that reflects both personal discovery and broader historical context.
This project represents the beginning of a larger creative initiative that will include future on-site filming, expanded genealogical research, and additional documentary releases. The series is designed to engage viewers interested in ancestry, cultural history, independent filmmaking, and reflective storytelling.

Audiences are encouraged to subscribe to the official YouTube channel to follow the series and upcoming releases.
