The annual Zaragoza Awards celebrates the Bravery, Achievements and Heritage of the Los Angeles Mexican Community

HOLLYWOOD, CA, May 06, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ — Hundreds of attendees, including prominent figures from the Los Angeles Mexican community, gathered at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International for the annual Zaragoza Awards, a distinguished event honoring Mexican individuals who have excelled abroad through extraordinary work, altruism, and resilience.

Named after General Ignacio Zaragoza, hero of the 1862 Battle of Puebla, Mexico, the awards commemorate the courage of ordinary people who triumphed against the odds-a legacy that continues to inspire immigrants striving for success and community impact today.

The ceremony celebrated the remarkable humanitarian achievements of Mexican individuals in the United States and the resilience of their communities across the nation. ALMA (Alliance of Mexicans & Americans), a community platform dedicated to strengthening cultural and economic ties between Mexico and the US, was also present.

Silvestre Orozco, head of Community Affairs Department in the Consulate General Office of Mexico in Los Angeles, highlighted the importance of supporting fellow immigrants and nurturing community solidarity.

Six distinguished recipients were honored with the prestigious Zaragoza trophies, along with official Certificates of Recognition from the California State Senate, in recognition of their dedicated efforts to support their communities throughout their careers. The ceremony concluded with a special presentation of the final Zaragoza trophy to Mexican Senator Lizeth Sanchez of Puebla, Mexico.

The Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International, who hosted the location of the event, remains dedicated to fostering cultural exchange and promoting global harmony through meaningful events like these.
